The Maxspect Jump Gyre 2K Flow Pump w/ Controller & Citric Acid Package contains two items: the Jump Gyre 2K Flow Pump w/ Controller & Inland Seas Citric Acid Pump Cleaner. The Citric Acid is for creating a solution for cleaning the pump. Jump Gyre Pumps are expensive, and you'll want to keep them clean to insure longevity.
Why exactly do you need the Inland Seas Citric Acid? Over time, aquarium pumps and powerheads can start to have mineral deposits or coralline algae build-up, which can hamper the performance. Keeping your pumps clean will lead to a longer life and better efficiency. Just create a liquid solution with the Inland Seas Citric Acid, and after a quick soak, deposits will start to dissolve, requiring minimal effort for complete removal.
The Maxspect Jump Gyre 2K Flow Pump w/ Controller is the latest offering from Maxspect. This latest Gyre is fully programmable and utilizes crossflow technology to distribute flow evenly and eliminate dead spots. Unlike earlier versions, each Jump Gyre comes with its own controller. They also come with an extra set of black rotors.
