Seachem Algae Scrapers Seachem Algae Scrapers are our favorite algae scrapers. The scrapers come in three different lengths and have some unique features that set them apart. The scrapers include a double-sided cleaning insert with a metal blade and a cleaning pad. The insert can be removed and flipped to switch between both cleaners easily. The scrapers are rigid plastic with a palm swell at the back of the handle that floats to the surface if you let go of the scraper. One of the best features of the Seachem scrapers is that the metal blade can be retracted inside the scraper head for storage. This prevents the blade from getting bent when in your aquarium cabinet. Replacement blades, pads, and complete cleaning inserts are available.
Seachem Algae Pads The Seachem algae pads are made of melamine foam and are amazing at getting into tight areas such as the corners of aquariums or inside the scratches on the tank’s viewing panels. The Pads are acrylic-safe and do an excellent job of removing all the algae in one swipe. They are a great cheap and disposable option for keeping your tank looking like a million bucks!
Seachem Safe If you have used any Seachem products, you have likely used Seachem’s special dechlorinator Prime. Safe is the dry version of Prime. It offers incredible chlorine removal capacity in a tiny bottle. 50 grams of safe can remove chlorine from 1250 gallons of water. This amazing capacity makes Safe a great choice for large systems using tap water, ponds, or for chlorine removal after using bleach to clean filter socks, filter cartridges, or tank decorations.

Seachem Tidal Filters The Seachem Tidal filters are the Cadillac of hang-on filters. They come in various sizes from 35 to 110 gallons and have features that make them a great choice for planted aquariums and small reef aquariums. The filters all include a surface skimming intake to keep the oil film from accumulating on the water’s surface. They have an open design allowing you to use a wide variety of media and even cut your own bulk media to fit. All but the smallest filters have a built-in mounting clip for a glass heater that keeps the heater in place to make sure that water from the filter is passing over the heater and distributing the heat evenly. There is built-in water flow control and a floating indicator to show when the filter is clogged and needs cleaning. The large size of the tidal filters makes them a great choice for larger freshwater aquariums that don’t want to deal with canister filters and the related difficulties with priming and leaking.
